On the anniversary of Forugh Farrokhzad‘s death (February 13th), we received the updates on a film project about this most prominent figure of modern Iranian art and literature.
Hassan Fayyad of Film Society has completed two-thirds of “Forugh Farrokhzad: A Journey Along The Line of Time,” a lyrical portrayal of the tumultuous life and works of the renowned poet, filmmaker, actor and painter Forugh Farrokhzad. Film Society needs to raise enough funding to complete the rest of this timely project. Excerpts of this project (above link) provide more details about this valuable work.
In its fundraising statement, Film Society explains the need for contributions: “We are committed to film production programs that help us to celebrate, preserve and strengthen our cultural and literary legacy. Forugh Farrokhzad: A Journey Along the Line of Time is a film designed to bring our cultural and literary heritage to life on screen as well as help ensure that the voice of Forugh Farrokhzad, this master poet, echo long into the future. Your support will help us to attain this mission.”
The flyer adds: “Regardless of how much you decide to donate, we will credit the company and organizations in the film as Funding of this project were partially or wholly possible through a generous donation by (name of the organization)” For individual donors, credit will be given in the following order:
